NoVNC

The VNC sessions (DAQ, Slow Controls/DCS) use NoVNC to connect to the session. This makes it easy to utilize the VNC desktop using a Web Browser.

The version was just updated to be more recent. The login screen now looks like this (you may need to refresh to see the updated version. If it still doesn't look this after a refresh, try loading the page in a Private Browsing Window):

Click Connect and if prompted for a password enter the VNC password. You can find it from the ECL "Projects" tab if needed.

Once you sign in, the desktop itself will look mostly the same, but the bar with options at the top that USED TO look like this is now gone:

Instead, it now resides on the left hand side of the screen, roughly in the middle of your visible screen. Look for the small arrow that looks like this:

Click this arrow to expand the options menu, so that it looks something like this (the drawing is annotated to tell you what some of the important buttons do).

The Settings menu gives you some further options, for example you can connect as View Only mode to watch the screens without interacting with it at all (opening/closing things, clicking buttons, etc.). "View Only" is the second option in the list in this screenshot. This is the preferred way of viewing if you don't need to be clicking things, and in the new version of NoVNC, you can swap in and out of view-only by clicking this setting (i.e. no need to log out and back in to change modes... just click/unclick the setting!).
